IntroductionGould Engineering, Inc. (GEI) is a full service consulting firm offering professional services in the disciplines of civil engineering, land surveying, and land planning. Since its founding in 1916 by Ora F. Gould, we have earned a reputation of excellence with our clients based on our commitment to quality service and ethical standards.
Our firm is located in Grand Blanc Township and is operated by three principals having been with the firm between 20 and 41 years, each. Our team of experienced and highly qualified staff includes licensed professional engineers and surveyors, certified survey technicians, CAD technicians, clerical staff, and field technicians. In addition to our in-house staff we collaborate seamlessly with specialty consulting firms, as well, providing our clients with a team of diverse capabilities and superior service.
Over the years we have assisted our clients (both public and private) in creating viable, well planned communities. In the public sector our clients include: county drain commissioners and county road commissions, cities, villages, townships, and parks and recreational groups.
In the private sector our clients include: commercial and residential developers, architects, corporations, institutions, contractors, housing authorities, attorneys, and real estate professionals. Our portfolio includes the General Motors Corporation, Target Corporation, Grand Sakwa, Crosswinds Communities, and other similar local and national firms.
To accommodate the needs of our clients our professional scope covers a broad spectrum of services. Each successful project begins with our staff’s creative ideas and ability to identify the needs and constraints of a particular project.
We successfully guide our clients though the process of: initial site evaluation, data research and surveys, master planning, and infrastructure design; to approval processing, permit processing, construction staking, construction management, and ultimately final recording. For the benefit of our clients we have worked diligently to develop quality control standards and project procedures that are unsurpassed and result in projects that are not only accurate, but meet relevant codes and standards. These policies and procedure result in faster approvals, permitting, and return on investment for our clients.
We also pride ourselves on the positive relationships we have built with local approving agencies, municipalities, and local authorities including the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the Department of Transportation. It is the philosophy of our firm to keep abreast of the latest local, state, and federal standards while incorporating innovative design techniques that solve various development issues and create sustainable projects.
We are active in and carry various affiliations with groups such as the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE), Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS), and the Michigan Association of Planning (MAP), to name a few. Proudly, we support and are active members with the various local home builders associations and chambers of commerce, as well.
Since 1916 our firm has proven its strength and integrity by surviving the various economic down falls and being one of the oldest engineering and surveying firms in the state of Michigan.
